Jay/Sharptet
Based in Buffalo, New York, and founded by trumpeter Jacob Jay and saxophonist Dalton Sharp, the Jay/Sharptet performs music with a focus on original compositions and arrangements. Inspired by the ensembles lead by the great Miles Davis, the group strives to make every performance a unique musical statement. Past performances include the Northwest Jazz Festival, the Queen City Jazz Festival, the Colored Musicians Club Jazz Festival, Babeville's 9th Ward, and Pausa Art House. The group’s debut album, “For You (My Love)” was released in May of 2022 on DPK Records.

The group’s debut album, “First Things First” was released in December of 2008 on DPK Records and was well received by radio stations both domestically and internationally. “Whenever You’re Ready”, the group’s follow-up, was released in February 2017.
